Roadside assistance service programs help drivers who find themselves stuck due to vehicle trouble. Whether you’ve run out of gas, are dealing with a dead battery, a flat tire, or a mechanical breakdown, you can access emergency help by calling a roadside assistance service offered by some credit cards.
Chase Roadside Assistance
Chase is the only credit card company that offers free road side assistance for some of its credit cards:
- Chase Sapphire Reserve
- The Ritz-Carlton Rewards Credit Card
- United Explorer Card
- United Club Infinite Card
- United MileagePlus Club Card
- United Business Card
- United Explorer Business Card
- United Club Business Card
Chase Roadside Assistance will cover you for:
- Up to $50 on the service, Up to 4 service calls per year
- Battery Boost, Flat Tire Service, Fuel Delivery Service (The cost of fuel is covered for up to 2 gallons)
- 24 Hour Towing Assistance
- 24 Hour Lockout Assistance
To be eligible for the coverage you must be driving a vehicle you own or lease, or a car furnished to you by the owner (no rentals), and services must be arranged through Cross Country Motor Club at 1-866-860-7978.
Visa
Anyone with a Visa credit card has access to Visa’s Roadside Dispatch benefit. To take advantage of Visa roadside assistance, you can call 1-800-847-2869 at any time. For a flat $69.95 fee per service, you can request the following assistance:
- Towing (up to 5 miles)
- Tire change (must have your own spare)
- Jump start
- Lockout service
- Fuel delivery (max of 5 gallons, you pay fuel price)
- Winch
Note that if you need a tow longer than five miles, you’ll need to cover that cost in addition to the flat fee.
Mastercard
Some Mastercard credit cards offer Master RoadAssist Roadside Service as part of Mastercard’s larger Travel Assistance benefit. Instead of offering a fixed fee for road side assistance, Mastercard will pre-negotiate fees on common roadside assistance services. Services covered by Master RoadAssist include assistance on common roadside emergencies, such as:
- Jump-starts
- Towing
- Gas delivery
- Tire changes
Call 1-800-Mastercard (1-800-627-8372) to access your Master RoadAssist benefits, and Mastercard will work with you to get the help you need.
